Therefore through this, Jacob’s iniquity will be (A)atoned for;
And this will be the whole fruit of the (B)turning away of his sin:
When he makes all the (C)altar stones like pulverized chalk stones,
When [a]Asherim and incense altars will not stand.
10 For the fortified city is (D)isolated,
A [b]haunt [c]forlorn and forsaken like the desert;
(E)There the calf will graze,
And there it will lie down and [d]feed on its twigs.
11 When its (F)limbs are dry, they are broken off;
Women come and light a fire with them,
For they are not a people of (G)discernment,
Therefore (H)their Maker (I)will not have compassion on them.
And their Creator will not be gracious to them.
